TEMPORARY WORK & THE SERVICES DIRECTIVE: THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT REJECTS LISBON STRATEGY WHEN CALLING FOR MORE REGULATION AND ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE BURDENS
Eurociett is against any political compromise that will exclude temporary work from the Services Directive and strongly opposes the full harmonisation of rules of establishment of the sector Brussels, 8th February 2006 Eurociett, the European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies, strongly opposes the EPP-PSE compromise amendment excluding temporary work from the scope of the Services Directive on the grounds that "full harmonisation of rules of establishment of the sector is needed".

"Active inclusion" of people with disabilities into SMEs
The European Commission will put forward concrete measures designed to improve the lives of disabled people in the European Union during the 2006-2007 period. The Communication's overall aim is to improve the "active inclusion" of disabled people through a range of initiatives and measures, including raising disability awareness among small and medium sized companies, reviewing how the European Social Fund can help support employment, training and equal opportunities for disabled people and promting the concept of independent living for disabled people
